UPDATE| Police have re-arrested three of the four detainees who escaped from Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday 20 October. It was a significant event involving a Wynberg court detainee escape.
The suspects, aged between 22 and 33, had appeared in court on charges including illegal firearm possession, housebreaking, and outstanding warrants. They were remanded in custody after their appearance but managed to flee Wynberg court before being returned to detention.

Linda Soyeza and Tawfeeq Damo were re-arrested on Thursday afternoon, 23 October. Soyeza handed himself over to police, while Damo was arrested at a premises in Grassy Park, linked to the Wynberg court detainee escape.
This morning, Friday 24 October, Mphumeleli Lufutha was arrested in Samora Machel. Authorities are still searching for the fourth escapee, Ismail George.
