The Mitchell’s Plain Educare Forum hosted its August meeting with a difference.

The forum used its monthly meeting to celebrate women with an event at the Salvation Army hall in Lentegeur on Wednesday 17 August. The forum has 130 members, but 80 attended the surprise event.

“It was our normal monthly meeting where we invited staff from the health and fire departments to come and speak to the members about the standard health and fire requirements,” says forum chair Valda Phillips.

“The celebration was a surprise to the members, it was a meeting with a difference.”

The forum is made up of representatives of registered Early Childhood Development centres (ECDs) in the Mitchell’s Plain area. The forum meets every third week of the month.

“If you would like to be part of Mitchell’s Plain Educare forum you only need to sign up as a member, and we also have a chat group where we notify all our members of what transpires in our ECD sector,” says Philips.
