“I really started liking cricket when I saw that I was progressing quicker than the other boys, and it was showing,” Michail recalls, pinpointing the moment when his passion for the sport ignited.

Since then, Wynberg Boys has been more than an academic institution; it’s a sanctuary for cricket development, emphasising a holistic approach to both sports and education.
With the prospect of national cricket week from Sunday 10 to Thursday 14 December, Michail focuses on mental fortitude and physical resilience. “I have consistently been playing cricket for the past three weeks, which has helped me in preparing for the tough, consecutive days of cricket,” he affirms, laying bare the dedication required for success at the national level.
