Two Hanover Park families are in mourning following the deaths of two five-year-old boys in unrelated incidents on Monday (16 October).
In the first incident at 17:00, a five-year-old boy, is believed to have been electrocuted in Ash Crescent. He was rushed to a nearby medical facility where he was declared dead.
An inquest docket has been opened for investigation.

Around 17:30, another five-year-old boy was taken to a local clinic for medical treatment after being shot in the chest in Rywood Walk. “Police are investigating a case of murder and are urging the public to come forward with information pertaining to the incident, which could assist with the investigation and successful arrest and d prosecution of those responsible,” says Philippi police spokesperson Capt Lance Goliath.
