Seven suspects appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court today (17 November) on charges of kidnapping and extortion of Abirah Dekhta (8) from Rylands.
The suspects will remain in police custody as the case is remanded to Wednesday 7 December for a formal bail application.

Abirah was abducted on Friday 4 November while on her way to school and released on Monday 14 November, more than 10 days after going missing, when she was found in a shack in Town Two in Khayelitsha.
