The champions of Super League A, B and C for 2024 were crowned on Saturday 14 September at City Park while other teams will be in the play-offs on Saturday 21 September to determine the third place, and promotion or relegation for next year.

In the Super League A, Hamiltons had to fight hard to beat Durbell by 23-20 to be crowned the champions. Hamiltons were the log leaders this season and SK-Walmers from Cape Town was the first team to break their unbeaten record.

SK-Walmers will be in action against Franschhoek this coming Saturday in the play-off after Franschhoek beat Kraaifontein to be the team in this showdown.

The match between SK-Walmers and Franschhoek will be one for the books and a great exhibition of skills between the two teams will be on show. Franschhoek will play to join Van der Stel-Evergreens (VDE) and UWC in Super League A next year. SK-Walmers will try to keep them in Super League B due to their experience in Super League A.

Super League B, C

In Super League B, UWC outplayed VDE in the first half when they kept the Stellenbosch team scoreless at half-time by 28-0. A fest of tries was scored in the 64-22 win over VDE and the game changer for VDE was Earl Rose, former Springbok-flyhalf, who used the wind to keep VDE on the attack scoring tries against the students. VDE showed the same lacklustre performance of last year against Hamediehs, by not showing aggression in their attempt to be crowned champions by beating UWC.

Despite the results in favour of the students, they will both be competing in Super League A next year. In the match between Franschhoek and Kraaifontein, it was a close affair when Franschhoek won by 16-12.

In Super League C, Macassar shot themselves in the foot by not being on par with Primrose and taking their chances to score. To add insult to injury, the match was marred by the yellow cards issued by the referee to Macassar. Primrose was crowned the champions of Super League C by winning 37-25. For Macassar, it was the same story as the past three years, leading the log but a lack of big match temperament let them stumble at the final hurdle. Goodwood beat Atlantis 24-20 and will play against Strand for promotion to Super League B.
