In an effort to contribute to community safety and well-being, Octotel, the leading Fibre Network Operator in the Western Cape, has announced its partnership with the Rondebosch Central Improvement District (CID) to deploy a cutting-edge security camera system.
This move reflects Octotel’s commitment to quality Fibre services and proactive community engagement.
Pieter Cordy, sssistant sperations manager, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasising Octotel’s mission to improve community safety alongside its Fibre network services.
The initiative involves transitioning to a future-proof Fibre network system, providing increased reliability and higher data transfer speeds.
Each camera location is equipped with an Optical Network Terminal (ONT), ensuring efficient data transfer to the Network Video Recorder (NVR) for improved monitoring and quicker incident response. Cordy highlighted the anticipated benefits, including enhanced public safety and crime deterrence.
