Safeline Child Abuse Treatment and Prevention Centre is hosting its 12th annual child protection week service at the Christ the Mediator Anglican Church, today (Thursday 6 June).

With more than 30 years in service of children, Safeline director Rochelle Philander says the organisation actually started in Hanover Park in 1998, when a local saw the need for child abuse intervention and started counseling.

The service was attended by representatives of the local police, national prosecution authority, neighbourhood watch, senior clubs and other organisations.

Safeline offers individual counselling, group work and community engagements among others and focuses its work on children aged two to 18.

Children sing the national anthem.
