What’s more, this achievement is enjoyed by the largest matric class in the history of the school, the Class of 2023.
“This year I am particularly grateful and proud as there are young men in this group who have overcome enormous odds and personal challenges to triumph at the end of their school careers,” said SACS headmaster Brendan Grant.
“A special congratulations to David Te Roller, our Dux Scholar, with an aggregate of 96,1%. A record of nine SACS students achieved an aggregate of 90% or above. This is incredible and should be celebrated and cherished.”
Special mentions here are:
- David Te Toller (Dux Scholar), with an aggregate mark of 96,1%. His marks were as follows: English Home Language – 93%; Afrikaans First Additional – 90%; Life Orientation – 96%; Mathematics – 99%; Accounting – 97%; Economics – 100%; Physical Science – 98%.
- Bheka Mabika, with an aggregate mark of 93,1%. His subject achievements were: English Home Language – 90%; IsiXhosa First Additional – 74%; Life Orientation – 97%; Mathematics – 92%; Accounting – 97%; Economics – 93%; Information Technology – 95% and Physical Science – 88%.
- Ryan Dawson achieved an aggregate of 91,9%. His achievements were for: English Home Language – 89%; Afrikaans First Additional – 86%; Life Orientation – 86%; Mathematics – 98%; Accounting – 99%; History – 88% and Physical Science – 97%.
Speaking of his pride in his school’s matriculants, Grant commended them for achieving this “through courage and determination and with the support, nurture and love of exceptional people on our staff at SACS.”
