Having been buried in accordance with Muslim Rites on Wednesday 8 November, the community came out in large numbers on Tuesday 14 November for a memorial service in Kameel Street, to honour Zubair and all those who have lost their lives to violence in the community.

His uncle, Pastor Leon Jacobs says two TikTok influencers, Mr MP and Kattie sat down with the family and created a song in Zubair’s honour. The music video, shot at the scene of his murder will be released on his birthday next week.

“The song was written by Michael Palmer, known as Mr MP and Kattie well influenced singers. The idea occurred because of little Zubair, who was very in love with rapper Early B’s songs, so that’s where the song was birthed from, as a tribute song,” says Jacobs.

“After the video, we proceed with permission of the parents. He was buried Muslim.

“Because of the number of Christians from the other side of the family, we decided to give him a memorial service on the exact place where the incident happend.”
