Police seized a substantial amount of dagga and alcohol at a “drug house” in Masiphumelele on Friday 18 August.
According to Ocean View Community Policing Forum (CPF) deputy chair Terence Daniels, the house belonged to a prominent drug dealer.
“On the evening of 18 August, a fruitful operation took place, targeting a prominent drug dealer’s premises. Police executed the raid, leading to the seizure of substantial quantities of dagga and alcohol.”
He added the operation yielded a successful outcome with multiple arrests.
“This action underscores the commitment of law enforcement to curbing illegal activities, ensuring safety and upholding the rule of law in the community.
“The collaborative efforts of police contribute to maintaining a secure environment, sending a strong message about the distribution and consumption of illicit substances. The Ocean View Community Policing Forum congratulates the police on a job well done.”
Ocean View police spokesperson Sgt Mfundo Nyengane confirmed that an undisclosed amount of dagga was found.
“On Friday 18 August, a house in Masiphumelele was raided and an undisclosed amount of dagga was found with an undisclosed street value.
He said a man was arrested and appeared in the Simon’s Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday 21 August.
