Backstreet United Netball Club will host a mystery drive fundraiser in aid of their future endeavours.
The club, established in 2011, has 44 male and female players in Kewtown.
“Every year after the netball season, we as board members feel that we give thanks to our players for a wonderful season and we end it off by having an outing. We also keep our presentation on the same day,” says Gillian Rosenberg, vice chair of the club.
“We live in a well-known gang and drug-infested area and to keep our youth away from that, we encourage our young people to be part of community sports.”
The mystery drive will keep the suspense going, she says.
“We don’t want to spoil the fun, with everyone knowing the location of the place, so we decided to say it’s a mystery drive to keep the suspense going,” she says.
The fundraiser will take place on Saturday 4 November and the bus will depart at 06:00.
Tickets cost R150 for children aged three to six and R250 for everyone older than six.
All are welcome.
