CAPE TOWN – Grassy Park police have registered a murder case following the discovery of a 23-year-old woman’s body in a shallow grave at Klip Road Cemetery on Tuesday 9 December at approximately 13:10.
The young woman had been reported missing by Steenberg police on 5 December, sparking a week-long search.
Investigation underway
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation,” said police spokesperson Capt FC van Wyk, “the case being transferred to Steenberg police for further investigation.”
Police confirmed a 42-year-old suspect had been arrested in relation to the murder and would appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court once formally charged.
