She tells People’s Post her goals include keeping Fish Hoek police as an important part of the community by improving relationships.
“The plan is to lead by example,” she says. “To serve and protect and to go back to basics in policing to reduce the crime in the area.”

Gaffor joined the South African Police Service on 12 February 1991, immediately after completing matric.
In 2008, after attaining the rank of Captain, she completed an officer’s course.
During her career, Gaffoor worked at various police stations including, Elsies River, Sandton, Bellville, Goodwood and Tygerberg Cluster.
“Being a police officer has never been easy but it has been rewarding that I have felt the difference that dedication to my work has impacted on others in a positive way,” Gaffoor reflected on her years as a police officer.
“At the age of 14, my mother asked me what I would like to do when I grow up and my answer was that I want to become a police officer,” she says.
“This choice at that young age to pursue this as a career has made me feel as if I am fulfilling my potential who I wish to be.”
