Lentegeur has a new fitness club aimed at keeping seniors active.

Launched on Saturday 9 September at the Lentegeur Civic center, the Lentegeur Gym Academy already has 70 members.

Geraldine Joshua, club chair, says while the club is aimed at seniors, it is open to all ages.

“It is to keep our seniors fit and healthy for as long as we live,” she says.

“Ages are mainly for seniors but we take any age group because we are a club that cares.”

As a community club, sessions are offered free of charge to members.

“We care about our seniors and our community. We do advanced classes in steppers, we do exercise on mats and we do boot camp as well,” she says.

The club has two fitness instructors, Andile Panto and Gail Campbell.

The pair offers training sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays from 09:30 to 10:30 at the Lentegeur Civic Centre.
