Proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference, 15-year-old Michael-Daniel Bam is transforming lives and communities through his non-profit organisation, the Michael Daniel Bam Foundation NPC. Established earlier this year, the foundation operates under the ethos, “we rise by lifting others,” and is already making a significant impact in areas such as Claremont, Rondebosch, Wynberg, and Kenilworth.

Driven by a passion for community care, Michael-Daniel has spearheaded initiatives that tackle critical social issues. The foundation’s flagship project, Project Eudaimonia, focuses on providing meals and U-Turn vouchers to individuals experiencing homelessness. This Christmas, the project aims to reach over 150 people, spreading hope and dignity during the festive season.

“Project Eudaimonia is about more than just providing meals, it’s about restoring dignity and building connections within our community,” Michael-Daniel explains.

The success of this initiative has laid the groundwork for future efforts, with plans to continue the project during Easter and Christmas next year. For Michael-Daniel, the goal is not just to offer short-term relief but to create a consistent and sustainable model of support for those in need.

Adding to his efforts, Michael-Daniel is piloting a new environmental initiative aimed at clearing litter and creating greener spaces. Launching this December, the project seeks to engage communities in sustainability efforts while addressing local environmental challenges.

“Helping people and protecting the environment go hand in hand,” he says. “I want to inspire others to care for our world and those who share it.”

Through these initiatives, the Michael Daniel Bam Foundation embodies a dual commitment to addressing both human and environmental needs. Michael-Daniel’s message is clear: age and resources are no barriers to creating change.

“You don’t need to be an adult to make a difference,” he shares. “Every small action can create a ripple effect of positive change.”

The foundation welcomes individuals and organisations to join their mission through donations, volunteering, or partnerships.
