Four serious crimes convictions for Manenberg Policing Precininct, Cape Town

Sgt Craig Keating and Sgt Sivuyeli Zantsi have collectively and successfully sent four men to prison for 40 years for serious violent crimes committed in the Manenberg Policing Precinct.

Sgt Craig Keating and Sgt Sivuyeli Zantsi have collectively and successfully sent four men to prison for 40 years for serious violent crimes committed in the Manenberg Policing Precinct.

Station Commander Brig Sanele Zama prides himself to be associated with these dedicated detectives, saying their success in bringing perpetrators of violent crimes or any other crime to book, is part of fulfilling their oath as police officers.

Toshka Stuurman (27) was sentenced to 12 years direct imprisonment for a murder that took place in September last year. At 01:05, after an argument that went horribly wrong, Stuurman fatally stabbed Shaney Lottering (15) in the neck. She died in hospital.

Larrimy Hans (27) was also sentenced to 12 years direct imprisonment for the murder Faried Atson (17) committed in June last year. At 10:05, Hans got out of a silver Mercedes Benz and walked up to and gunned down the 17-year-old boy with a hearing impairment in cold blood.

Vuyisile Mba (24) was sentenced to five years imprisonment for Culpable Homocide after the charge of murder was reduced. In October 2019 at 15:00 the suspect accosted a victim at the Heideveld railway station. He had an argument with victim and fatally stabbed him.

Trevor Abrahams (32) was sentenced to 12 years direct imprisonment for the murder of Vanchesco Harris (18) which took place in September 2018. He brutally stabbed the victim, who succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Zama has commended his seasoned detectives for their tenacity diligence and perseverance in investigating these cases simultaneously. The successful prosecution and sentencing has shown the dedication of each officer and their commitment in serving the community within the Manenberg Policing Precinct.
