On Tuesday 29 October, officers who formed part of an integrated operation raided an address in Lansdowne where they entered the home and searched the occupants as well as the entire premises.
During the search they recovered two rifles, a pistol with no serial number and an assortment of ammunition and cash.
The occupants could not provide a valid licence to be in possession of the firearms.
Subsequently, five men aged between 48 and 68 were arrested for the possession of unlicensed and prohibited firearms and ammunition.
