Fish Hoek Club crowned Masters Surf Champions at SA Lifesaving Nationals

The Fish Hoek Lifesaving junior and senior teams have scooped most of the silverware at a lifesavers competition this past week.

The Fish Hoek club proved their mettle at the Masters Surf Competition at the 2025 DHL Lifesaving South African Championships which was held at Kings Beach in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, from Sunday 27 April until Friday 2 May.

The championships are described as South Africa’s top lifesaving veterans showcasing their incredible skills in spectacular conditions and passion for water safety, according to their website.

In the Final Masters Surf Club, Fish Hoek Lifesavers walked away as the victors besting 2023 defending champions, Summerstrand Lifesaving Club.

The Fish Hoek Lifesaving Club has a home-grown, proud history of surf lifesaving, and has long been ranked as one of the best clubs in the country.

The club serves the Fish Hoek beach community through volunteer based first responder medical emergency care offered during the lifesaving season.

In the junior category, Evan Nefdt came

second overall in the Junior pool Champs for the u-14 male overall.

Sarah Mocke came first in the u-13 iron nipper challenge.
