Entries are still open for the third annual Miss Mitchells Plain Unbreakable Pageant where a new queen will be crowned.

While the competition is hosted in Mitchells Plain, it is open to women and girls from all communities and is a fundraising initiative for the 42 Unbreakable Anti-Bullying Campaign.

Pageant founder and director Kayla Jenecker says 10 girls will be accepted in one of the five categories – Miss Tiny (2-5), Little Miss (6-8), Pre-Teen (9-12), Miss Teen (13-17) and Miss Unbreakable (18-25).

Miss Teen has been one of the most popular categories, says Jenecker, who is a former Miss SA contestant.

Participants who are married, engaged and mothers are also able to enter.

The pageant will happen at Highlands Primary School at noon on Saturday 2 November.

Gifts and cash prizes are up for grabs. “This will be our third annual pageant. The beauty pageant is our annual fundraiser for our anti-bullying campaign.

“The pageant is hosted in Mitchells Plain but is open to all other communities. All entry fees go towards our school outreaches,” she says.

  • Entry is R300 per participant. For details visit Miss Mitchells Plain Unbreakable Beauty Pageant on Facebook or @Miss-mplain-unbreakable on Instagram or WhatsApp 074 860 1936.
