A popular coffee shop on Main Road in Fish Hoek was the target of burglars on Monday 25 September, when perpetrators walked away with a stash of laptops, jewellery, clothing and cash.
According to Fish Hoek police spokesperson WO Peter Middleton, a burglary was reported at the premises on Tuesday 26 September.
“I can confirm that the premises had been broken into and a case has been opened by the owner. The reference relating to the case is burglary or house break-in.”
Middleton further explained that the doors leading to the coffee shop were forcibly opened to gain access.
“The incident took place around Monday 25 September and Tuesday 26 September between 16:00 and 07:00.
“The door was reported to be forced open to gain access to the premises.
“Taken from the premises were the following: television, laptops, electronic tablets, jewellery, clothing, cash as well as a painting.”
He added that no suspects have been identified as the investigation is ongoing.
“All avenues will be utilised for the purpose of identifying possible suspects.”
Commenting on its social media page, the owners of the coffee shop thanked the community for their support and well-wishes.
“We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This has fuelled us to put our best foot forward and keep going.”
Meanwhile, a few months earlier, in July, the Fish Hoek Post Office on Main Road was the target of armed robbers.
At the time, five suspects stole an unknown amount of cash. The incident was the second robbery at the premises in two years.
