Cape Town sisters launch empowering modelling school to inspire confidence in children

Kayla Jenecker and her sister Celita have launched Kaylita’s Modelling School to empower young girls and boys, fostering confidence, self-awareness, and a passion for modelling while offering insight into the industry.

She dreamt of becoming a model when she was younger, but through bullying she saw her path change. But, with her success in launching an anti-bullying campaign, non-profit organisation and pageant, her modelling career has also taken her to new heights.

Now Kayla Jenecker and her sister Celita are launching their own modelling school – Kaylita’s – to help give other little girls and boys a jump start in the industry.

“My motivation behind opening the modelling school was to empower these young girls and women, being yourself but also allowing them to gain that self awareness of how powerful they are,” says Celita.

Kayla agrees that the school is aimed at empowering locals. “We want to empower young girls and boys in all shapes and sizes. Modelling gives you confidence, it builds your self-esteem, it takes you out of your comfort one, I say this because I’m a model, a fashion and sports model and modelling gave me a new perspective on a lot of things.”

Kayla continues that they have seen the talent in the community.

“These girls have what it takes, we see it in them already, we are just here to bring out their inner shine and confidence. They have a heart for modelling,” she says.

The school will be open to girls and boys from the ages of three and up, from all areas.

All students will pay a once off registration fee of R150 for the year, with a monthly fee of R200. Students will also be required to sign a contract.

Classes take place every Wednesday from 17:00 to 19:00 at Dagbreek Hall in Westridge.

“We will be giving them insight of the commercial industry, polaroids shoots, poise, hair and beauty and also that wellness and taking care of your health is essential to continue in a fast-paced industry. We will host commercial workshops and insights on the world of beauty pageants and high fashion modelling,” says Kayla.
