This year Tertiary School in Business Administration (TSIBA) celebrates 20 years of investing in transitioning young people into careers and ethical, purpose-driven leadership.
As such, they offer a unique education collaboration with Zurich-based Swiss Business School (SBS) through two of its most sought-after executive education courses. These are facilitated by Dr Michael Gerlich, (PhD, MBA Cambridge), Head of Centre for Strategic Corporate Foresight and Sustainability at SBS.
Due to great interest, the additional SBS Executive Education programme dates for the following courses are:
- Corporate Foresight and Strategic Analysis Programme: Wednesday 5 June – Friday 7 June.
- Transformational Leadership Programme: From Monday 10 June – Wednesday 12 June.
The Webinar dates and times for programme marketing purposes are:
- Wednesday 24 April – Corporate Foresight and Strategic Analysis Webinar at 11:00 South African time (10:00 Swiss time).
- Wednesday 15 May – Transformational Leadership Webinar at 11:00 South African time (10:00 Swiss time).
Motivating reasons why these opportunities cannot be missed are two success stories of TSIBA graduates excelling in the corporate world: Mthetho Koyana and Samantha Williams.
“The truth is that TSIBA was not my initial first choice when I thought about a tertiary institution. As I was selected to study at TSIBA I then considered that I would go to another institution on completion of my first year. However, I fell ‘in love’ with the institution and what TSIBA stood for, and stands for still to this very day,” shared Koyana.
For him, there is a sense of belonging, being seen and recognised by the staff and lecturers. “Going to TSIBA was one of the best decisions I have taken in my life. Leadership and entrepreneurship is what TSIBA stands for and prides itself on.”
Williams, another graduate, reflects on her path at TSIBA as one in which she encountered obstacles including a personal setback during her final year.
“But here I learned the value of taking pause to regroup. The break allowed me to flourish personally and establish myself within my current role. “Completing the IMACS@TSIBA course provided by ASISA enhanced my qualifications, positioning me as a standout graduate.”
The exposure to leadership development at TSIBA including the honing of her own leadership skills significantly bolstered Williams’ confidence, enabling her to lead more effectively within her present role.
“TSIBA served as the essential foundation and inspiration for my professional endeavors” she said.

“In an era defined by constant change and uncertainty, the ability to anticipate future trends, risks, and opportunities is more critical than ever for the survival and success of any organisation. Traditional strategic planning methods often fall short in preparing businesses for the ever-changing external environment. Here the twin disciplines of Strategic Analysis and Corporate Foresight come into play,” said Gerlich.
The venue for the Strategic Analysis and Corporate Foresight and the Transformational Leadership programmes will be at TSIBA Ndabeni, 51 Old Mill Road, Ndabeni, Cape Town.
