Athlone organisations, businesses encouraged to register for CPF elections

This year, community-policing forums (CPF) across the province will host elective annual general meetings to select leadership for the coming term.

This year, community-policing forums (CPF) across the province will host elective annual general meetings to select leadership for the coming term.

The Athlone policing precinct will host its election on Wednesday 20 November, with officials calling on businesses and organisations there to apply to be registered or renew their membership so they can participate in the election.

Applications close on Friday 4 October.

This process is open to all community-based organisations and businesses operating in the precinct, including schools and churches.

Organisations or its representative must provide:

  • A constitution or founding document that includes the aims and objectives of the organisation
  • Minutes of the last SGM or AGM of the organisation (if applicable)
  • Minutes of the meeting mandating the representatives to the CPF

All businesses applying for membership must supply:

Business-registration papers or a copy of their business licence

An official letter (on a letterhead) signed by the director/owner/manager describing the type of business
