A 29-year-old man was arrested Friday morning 24 October after Grassy Park Visible Policing (VISPOL) officers were patrolling the Ottery area.
While driving along Edward Road, they noticed a suspicious man.
“Upon seeing the police officers, the male started running. The members gave chase and apprehended him,” said police spokesperson, Alridge Issacs.
After searching the man, members found one black 9mm firearm with an extended magazine containing 28 live rounds in his right hand.
The man was arrested and detained. He will be charged accordingly and appeared at the Wynberg Magistrate s Court on Monday 27 October.
